Gracious and authentic spot
What a lovely intro to PR. Stayed here with friends before heading south. Delicious breakfast with tropical fruit and juices, different each day. All served in an open courtyard. This is an authentic old home, graced with lovely art. Rooms were high ceilinged.
Our hosts graciously helped us find restaurants and plan our time.
Stay here if you can!!!
The entire experience was delightful, the pillows, sheets and bed were wonderful. The breakfast was outstanding, the B&B was spotless, and the hosts were so accommodating. There was lovely art through-out. I will go Back!
Everything about our stay was fantastic! Eddie and Tisha (Margarita) were amazing hosts. They treated us like family. The room was comfortable, the patio area was adorable, the dog was super sweet, and the food…WOW! Everything in Old San Juan is within easy walking distance. I love that the B&B was near the top of the hill which is a reasonable distance from the cruise ships. The further up the hill you go, the better the food (the ships are at the bottom). You cannot go wrong staying here. Thank you so much, and we can’t wait to come back!
Wonderful experience
I stayed at Casa Sol as a solo traveler for 3 nights. It was a wonderful experience. Eddie and Tisha were extremely friendly and helpful in providing recommendations for cultural attractions and restaurants, as well as arrangements for taxi transportation. The location in Old San Juan is within an easy walk of many cultural attractions while still being relatively quiet in the evening. The breakfasts were tasty and customizable with notice (I’m vegetarian). All in all, a great experience and I will definitely be staying here next time I’m in San Juan!
Casa Sol is such a beautiful property.
The room was lovely and full of charm. The details were impeccable; bottles of water left for guests, chocolates on the bed, safe and secure room, beautiful decor. It was also eco-friendly, with reusable bottles, showers that use less water, and a fan to keep the room cool. The A/C was great, but the fan was just as wonderful. our room had a big beautiful window with shutters, but we could not open them because the room faces the street and is on street level. So you give up a level of privacy if you choose to open the shutters. We kept them mostly closed. The location was great, within walking distance to everything. Eddie shared great local places to eat that were outside of the touristy areas, and they did not disappoint. The breakfast was amazing, made with fresh and local ingredients! One thing to note is that many restaurants close early, around 10 or so, and they stop taking customers well before closing. Just make sure you keep that in mind when planning dinner. Another thing to note is that there is no TV. but there is WiFi, so you can stream on your ipad or computer if you wish. All in all, we had an amazing stay. Casa Sol is a wonderful experience and we would love to stay there again. Thank you Eddie and Tisha for being wonderful hosts, and Kayla for taking care of us as well.
“Charming” is the word that came to mind immediately when we checked in and throughout our stay. Our family of three, including a 6yo, loved our recent stay. We stayed in La Farola room, which featured a comfortable bed, lovely furniture, and a bathroom with a great shower. We loved the eco-conscious focus, including recycling bins and the environmentally friendly soaps. But of course, the true gems of our experience were Tisha and Eddie, who made us feel so welcome and helped us start each day with delectable homemade breakfasts. What an experience! We can’t wait to return.
Casa Sol is a quiet gem in Old San Juan. We are still talking about the delicious breakfasts and cozy, immaculately clean lodgings. Hosts Tisha and Eddie are warm and welcoming, we look forward to seeing them again!
Easily worth 10 stars
My wife and I stayed at the Casa Sol Bed and Breakfast, in late March 2023. We don’t know what we could possibly add to all of the previous reviews that Eddie Ramirez and Tisha Pastor have already received but will try. It is located in Old Town San Juan and the building is amazing. Our room was quaint and the open-air atrium where breakfast is served was inviting and comfortable. The breakfast changed daily and was delicious. More than this however, the hosts were truly accommodating. One morning we had an early morning sightseeing trip. Mr. Ramirez wouldn’t let us leave until we had coffee and some sweet rolls to start our day.
Simply the best B&B experience!
This is by far the best B&B experience I have ever had. The room was gorgeous and spotless clean. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was wonderful with an eco-friendly invitation/challenge to limit showers to 5 minutes, so we don’t waste water and help take care our planet. This environmental awareness extends to their solar panels in Casa Sol. The breakfast is to die for, different and delicious every morning, featuring tons of local fruits. The location is perfect to visit Old San Juan and/or the metropolitan area. Communication was always fast and helpful. And most of all, Tisha and Eddie are wonderful human beings, generous and kind. This is the place to stay if you are visiting San Juan!
A little oasis in Old San Juan
Casa Sol is a gem of a place. I highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for charm, relaxation, quiet, romance, and more! It is small but elegant. The decor is exquisite, right down to the dishes used for serving breakfast. Speaking of which, Eddie cooks up a restaurant level meal, delivered to you by the delightful helper. Your hosts, Eddie and Tisha, provide a very warm welcome and are happy to help you plan your stay, get you a cab, or for anything else. Our room, with its high ceilings and old-style architecture, was a comfortable, cool and relaxing space after a day full of sightseeing on foot. It was on the street side, and you could hear some ordinary street noise, but was very quiet at night. The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable. We really appreciated the hosts’ dedication to climate sustainable practices. I’m adopting the five-minute-shower-challenge!! The courtyard is beautiful and full of beautiful decor and plants. Restaurants and tourist attractions are all within walking distance. Casa Sol is definitely a place I hope to return to. Do not hesitate to stay here!!!!
